On-Campus Degrees: Master

After completing a bachelor's degree program, graduates may enter the workforce or return to school to complete a master's degree. The time commitment for a master's degree is one to three years of full-time education, depending on the graduate degree program. A higher salary may also be possible -- master's degree holders earn about 20% more per year than those with just bachelor's degrees, according to a U.S. Census report. Students may choose between pursuing an academic or professional master's degree. In a number of professions like architecture, medicine, or pharmaceutical the professional degree is required for licensure.
